Ratae members ended their competitive road season in great style with big turnouts at both the club's event at Sludge Hill on 27 October and Coalville Wheelers at Polly Botts on the following Sunday.
Alex Whitmore once again posted the best times for a club member in both events and is clearly proving to be an inspiration to the rest of the club. Not only did more club members enter both events this year but all who tackled Sludge Hill improved on their previous best times and at Polly Botts Ratae riders coloured the hill purple by outnumbering all other clubs' entries.
It was greatly encouraging to see more women entering this year, with Laura Vann-Hopewell and Biggi Gaillard winning their age groups in the club event and Lesley Allen being the fastest Ratae woman at Polly Botts.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in and supported the club at these events. Now over to the CX mudlarks to keep the Ratae flag flying.
