Based in Leicester, the Ratae Road Club provides opportunities for all types of cyclist.

Ride with Ratae for every type of cycling

Our club name has been Ratae Road Club since we were founded in 1950 but don't let the name fool you. We run not only road rides and competitions but also offer regular off-road rides, track training sessions and we have a cyclo-cross team.

Club rides every Wednesday and Sunday mornings with both fast and steady speed groups

Off-road rides take place on the first Sunday of the month, subject to conditions.

For competitive riding we hold club time trials throughout the spring and summer, an autumn hill climb and take part in Leics Cyclocross League competitions.

All our rides are notified to members on our WhatsApp group but you will find details of scheduled events on our Events page.

HELMETS MUST BE WORN ON ALL CLUB RIDES, BOTH COMPETITIVE AND NON-COMPETITIVE.

The club is affiliated to British Cycling, CyclingUK and Cycling Time Trials

We are always looking for new men and women members to join the Ratae Road Club.

Whether your interest is in social cycling or competitive time trialling and cyclocross we can offer a friendly environment to participate in and improve your ability.

If you are thinking of becoming a member please come along to up to three club runs free of charge before having to commit to joining.

Founders' Day

Ratae Road Club was founded in 1950 out of an amalgamation of cycling clubs based in two local engineering companies, British United Shoe Machinery Co and Mellor Bromley. Each July the club celebrates its founding members with its Founders' Day social event comprising a varied range of rides which arrive back at a local hostelry for some well-earned beverages and a lunch.
