News from the AGM

Having missed out on an AGM in 2020 an enthusiatic number of members contributed to a lively AGM on Tuesday night.

Reports from officers highlighted:

  • The successes and growth of entrants in club and open time trials and hill climbs.

  • Healthy club finances, mainly based upon the popularity of club TTs.

  • Growth in members supporting TTs as marshalls, time keepers and ride HQ staff.

  • Increase in the number of women members and their participation in time trials.

The election of club officers saw the majority wishing to stand again but we also welcomed a number of new officers to the committee:

  • Peter Kott is our new President (and was immediately photographed!)

  • Natalie Harris was confirmed as our Women's Officer, having been co-opted at the start of the year.

  • Ruthie Coles has taken up the post of Social Secretary.

  • Rob Matthews is the new Club Coach. Rob gave us a brief outline about his ideas. If you haven't seen it already, please take a look at his member survey on the club's Facebook page.

  • Karl Williams is our new Auditor.

Amongst a number of AOB items there was a useful discussion about rider safety on group rides and the Share The Road campaign. As a result of this, the club will be looking into a range of improvements including the possible use of bike or rider-mounted cameras on club runs.
