Fabulous Founders Day

Sunday's Founders Day event was a great success with a good turnout of riders at 9.00am all of whom completed the longer 70km route to Rockingham. Well, not quite all as Kam's vintage machine, spendid as it looked, had a few mechanical issues resulting in an abandon by Kibworth.

At the end of a perfect morning's riding with the weather getting steadily warmer we all arrived back at the Horse & Trumpet to meet Sadie, Janice, Bridget Bragg and Bob Perrett and it was good to see Miles, who is back on the bike again.

After a well earned drink, or two, and much socialising the trophy winners were announced (see photo). After casting his experienced and critical

eye over the vintage steel on view Bob P awarded first prize to Peter Rapp's magnificent Raleigh M Trax 6000R and runner-up to Andie Cassie's gleaming Bromwich. First prize for the best vintage kit went to Ruthie Coles and second to Peter Kott.

Chapeau to Kam for organising a most enjoyable day. Everyone went home wanting more of the same and so I'm sure the club will be holding a similar event again before the year is out.
